Denisa's Story
Denisa Hatches Ngala is an emerging artist from Camel Camp, Utopia. She was taught to paint by her talented grandmother Kathleen Ngala. Denisa would always accompany her grandmother Kathleen on her painting projects and help her mix paint and prime canvases. She closely observed her grandmother’s technique while she worked on her Bush Plum Dreaming canvases while she listened to Kathleen’s stories of the bush plum and its importance to the local people.
Now that her grandmother died Denisa is perpetuating the story of Bush Plum Dreaming with a similar painting technique to that of her grandmother.
Her works have been included in exhibitions at the Prairie Hotel, Parachilna and Without Pier in Melbourne.
